TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment ( 36 Courses )

This qualification is suitable for people working in a training and assessment role.

Those entering this program must have a substantial level of existing knowledge and skills in training and assessment and must also be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching and assessing area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience, and may include, but is not limited to, holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.

This course is being delivered over four modules. These modules may be completed monthly and the minimum time to complete this qualification is 6 months. A log book is also required to record your training and assessment hours.

TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design & Development ( 0 Course )

This qualification reflects the roles of training developers and instructional designers who are responsible for analysing training needs and designing training solutions and products to meet workplace capability requirements, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs. They may have a role in providing guidance and advice to trainers and assessors, promoting innovative practices, e.g. e-learning, and in researching and incorporating best practice in training and assessment into training programs and products.

To meet the requirements you will need to complete:

Core Skills Module:

  • TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools
  • TAEDES501 Design and develop learning strategies
  • TAEDES502 Design and develop learning resources
  • TAEDES505 Evaluate a training program
  • TAETAS501 Undertake organisational training needs analysis

Elective Units:

Three elective units must be selected from the TAE50216 elective units listed and two elective units may be selected from any currently endorsed Training Package at Diploma level or above.

TAEASS502 Design and develop assessment tools describes the skills and knowledge required to design and to develop assessment tools, including formative, summative and recognition of prior learning (RPL) assessments.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge a vocational trainer or assessor requires to identify language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skill requirements of training and the work environment, and to use resources and strategies that meet the needs of learner group. 

The unit applies to individuals who teach, train, assess and develop resources. Competence in this unit does not indicate that a person is a qualified specialist adult language, literacy or numeracy practitioner.
